Word of Life Traditional School was founded in 1999 in Wichita, Kansas. Our Mission has always been to train up young people to become all that they are called to be in God. We have a wonderful staff and we consider what we do a ministry. We are the only state accredited Kindergarten through Twelfth year Christian school in Kansas. Our students graduate with accredited diplomas from the state of Kansas which makes getting into college a much smoother experience. Our elementary students test 1 to 2 years higher on average then public schools. WOLTS has higher standards academically than public schools. Word of Life Traditional School has tested with overall improvement on the Kansas State Tests two years in a row. Our four year olds in K-4 are reading by Christmas and our High School Students have duel credits available through Friends University. We strive to provide an exciting, full, excellent, competitive sports program. Many Christian Schools do not engage in multiple sports. They feel the cost is just not worth it. However, the Word of Life FIRE Sports Program, is top of the line for schools of our size. Many students have received partial or full sports scholarships from our programs. We believe that Christian Students and families should not have to do without. Therefore, we provide excellence in as many areas as possible including memorable extracurricular activities and events. Our Royal Court Homecoming weekend and Prom are two of the highlights of the year. Our seniors graduate with pomp and celebration just like a much larger school, except without the long wait for your child's name to be called! We have been blessed in our recent years to have a wide variety of Foreign Exchange Students who come to WOLTS from all over the world. We encourage our American students to learn all they can from the various cultures represented each year. Because of this opportunity, we have had the honor to lead several unsaved exchange students to Christ. They return home to spread the gospel and further their Christian Growth! Above all we are a Jesus School. We know that all the knowledge in the world and all the success will not bring us happiness or peace. We endeavor with our lifestyle and our daily chapels to instill in our young people the need to become and stay a growing Christian. Many outreaches are available such as GZ youth and GZ Concerts so that the young people can have the opportunity to "hang around the right crowd" after hours as well. Our Teachers at WOLTS are available on Friday to assist any student who requests extra help on any given subject. At Word of Life Traditional School, there is never a reason to fall behind or to feel left out. We are thankful every day that our Lord is allowed and magnified at Word of Life School! We are humbled and sensitive to make the Lord proud of how we teach his kids. After all they are lent to us from the Lord. He created them for great purpose.
